How the days are counted
By default the calculator counts the days from the start date up to, but not including, the end date. From 1 January to 2 January is one day. Tick "include the end date" when you need to count both days, for example the length of a holiday or a hire period.
Working days are Monday to Friday. Public holidays aren't removed because they vary by country and state, so subtract any that fall inside your range.
Common uses
Counting notice periods, project deadlines, days until a trip, the length of a lease, or how long ago something happened.
Questions people ask
How many days are between two dates?
Pick a start and end date and the total appears instantly. The count excludes the end date unless you tick the include option.
How do I count working days between two dates?
The working days figure counts only Monday to Friday. Subtract any public holidays in your area.
Should I include the end date?
Include it when both days count, like a 3-day event from Friday to Sunday. Leave it off when measuring time elapsed, like the age of something.
How many weeks are between two dates?
Divide the days by 7. The calculator shows the result as whole weeks plus leftover days.
